There's no one-size-fits-all price
We don't publish flat prices because every home is different. Instead, here are the factors that determine what your installation will cost so you can plan.
Charger type
A plug-in charger on a NEMA 14-50 outlet is often simplest. Hardwired chargers can deliver more power and are popular with Tesla and other EV owners. The charger itself is usually purchased separately.
Distance from your panel
The farther your garage or parking spot is from the panel, the more wire and conduit are needed. Detached garages may need a trenched feeder.
Panel and service capacity
This is the biggest variable. If your panel has room and your service can handle the load, installation is straightforward. If not, you may need a panel upgrade, a 200-amp service upgrade, or a load-managing charger.
Permits and incentives
Some communities require permits. Check with your utility and current state or federal programs for possible EV charging incentives — they change often, so confirm before you buy.
